The Ladies team entered in the annual Women's North Challenger Cup as part of their pre-season warm up.
Competiting in 5 matches in the scorching Halifax sunshine, Boston Spa Ladies achieved 4 draws (2 score draws), and a win giving them a total of 9pts in their half of the table. Finishing all their matches, progression through to the final was not confirmed, being relient on other results. With 3 matches remaining in the tournament, they were left waiting right to the final match result before it was confirmed they were through to the final.
Having the wait meant that the girls could get some rest before the final agasint Adel 1s, with only 11 players and no subs it was very much required.
Boston Spa Ladies saved their best performance of the day for the final. They worked hard together, marking and pressing strongly, building up good passages of play with precise passing and determination..
A penalty in the first half, was taken brilliantly by Kerry Robinson after a 2nd attempt as the keeper moved too soon on the first.
In the second half of the final, a super new penalty corner routine was converted, with Kerry Rafton getting on the end of Kim Naylor's swipe. Final Scoer 2-0.
